Also, if there are more injuries we might see some changes. The Twins won't dump Humber for nothing (this organization carried Brian Bass because they were afraid of losing him to waivers until he proved he wasn't anything special) and the top 4 slots are locks.

It may seem nearly inevitable that Guerrier will fill the latter role, but indications are that's up for grabs at this point.

" They took care of the top priority yesterday. Now Mauer should get some attention. If they extend Mauer I'm giving Bill Smith an A- on the offseason. "I'd love to see the Twins acquire a legit 3B who can provide some right-handed power" Hello Joe Crede! "I still wouldn't recommend re-signing Punto to more than a 1 year deal. His bat is not going to improve and will probably decline, he gets hurt too often to count on him for a whole season and he's just not worth $3M in outlay." They overpaid for Punto. I would have gone a different direction. Orlando Cabrera was much cheaper than I thought. "Spending big bucks on a free agent reliever rarely makes sense but I could see a veteran signed if he's cheap enough." I'll trust the Twins scouts on Ayala. There are still lots of internal options for the bullpen. "I think the rotation is a strength. Depth is the main concern." This has not been addressed. It is possible Ben Sheets would be ready at the same time the Twins need a starter. Also, there is plenty of payroll room remaining to get a veteran pitcher in a salary dump. I think they'll be okay but stashing someone in the minors would be prudent. There are still some guys looking.
